Gratitude: A Double-Edged Sword?
Gratitude is often hailed as the ultimate mindset tool for attracting good things into your life. And while it’s certainly powerful, it can also be misapplied in ways that create more blocks than breakthroughs.
Living with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) can feel like an uphill battle. From sudden dizziness and rapid heart rate to chronic fatigue and brain fog, the symptoms can leave you feeling drained and out of control. For those who experience it, POTS isn’t just a condition; it’s a daily challenge that can disrupt work, relationships, and even the simplest tasks like standing up.
But there’s good news. While conventional medicine often focuses on managing symptoms, integrative health offers a holistic approach to address the root causes and help the body regain balance. In this article, we’ll explore how integrative health strategies can provide relief, improve quality of life, and empower you to stand strong against POTS. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
POTS is a form of dysautonomia, meaning it impacts the autonomic nervous system—the system responsible for regulating involuntary functions like:
heart rate
blood pressure
and digestion
One of the key features of POTS is the body’s inability to properly regulate blood flow when changing positions. This leads to an abnormal increase in heart rate when standing, often accompanied by lightheadedness, fainting, and other symptoms like:
Fatigue
chest pain
and difficulty concentrating
While POTS can be triggered by various factors such as viral infections, trauma, or hormonal changes, many individuals struggle to find effective solutions through conventional treatments alone. Beta-blockers, increased salt intake, and compression stockings are often prescribed, but they don’t always address the underlying causes and can often cause symptoms to become worse.
Integrative health is about looking beyond symptoms and digging deep into what’s driving the imbalance in your body. It combines conventional treatments with proven holistic approaches, focusing on nutrition, stress reduction, detoxification, and other slight lifestyle modifications.
Here’s how the integrative health process can help rebalance your body and alleviate POTS symptoms using our 5 R’s approach:
The first step in integrative health is to reveal what’s out of balance. With POTS, many individuals experience deficiencies in key minerals like magnesium, sodium, and potassium, which play a crucial role in maintaining healthy circulation and nervous system function. On top of that, hormone imbalances—particularly stress hormones like cortisol—can exacerbate the condition.
At-home functional health tests, such as the Minerals and Metals (HTMA) test or saliva hormone tests, can provide a clear picture of your body’s nutrient levels and hormone balance. This data allows us to pinpoint exactly where the imbalances lie, rather than guessing.
Once we’ve identified the imbalances, the next step is to remove what’s harming the body. In the case of POTS, this could involve reducing inflammation, detoxifying heavy metals, or addressing chronic infections that are putting undue stress on the autonomic nervous system.
Proper detoxification is key here. A comprehensive detox protocol, like a 7-day or 21-day functional medicine detox, supports the liver’s ability to eliminate toxins effectively. This helps clear the path for better cellular function and overall healing.
Next, we replace the deficiencies. Targeted supplementation with minerals like magnesium, sodium, and potassium can significantly improve blood volume regulation and alleviate some of the common symptoms associated with POTS, such as dizziness and fatigue.
Proper filtered hydration is another critical factor. Many individuals with POTS are advised to increase their water intake, but hydration alone isn’t enough. Adding electrolytes to your water helps ensure that your body can absorb and retain the fluids it needs to function properly.
One of the most powerful elements of integrative health is its ability to rebalance the body’s systems—especially the autonomic nervous system, which is directly impacted by POTS. Stress management plays a crucial role in this step. Practices like meditation, breathwork, Tai Chi, or Qigong can help calm the sympathetic nervous system (the body’s “fight or flight” response) and activate the parasympathetic system (the body’s “rest and digest” mode).
These practices are more than just relaxation techniques; they’ve been shown to directly affect the vagus nerve, which controls many autonomic functions and plays a significant role in conditions like POTS.
Finally, we want to retain the progress made. This step focuses on long-term lifestyle changes that support continued health and prevent POTS flare-ups. This might involve optimizing your sleep, continuing with balanced nutrition, incorporating daily movement, and staying mindful of stress levels.
You might be thinking that building new habits and routines takes time, and you’re right - however, integrative health along with clinical hypnosis has been shown to drastically reduce that time and provide relief. Our clients all agree that the payoff is well worth it—disappearing symptoms, more energy, and a renewed sense of control over your body, mind and life.
I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals who’ve been struggling with POTS for years, and I’ve seen first-hand the transformation that can happen when we take a root cause approach.
One client, who had been suffering from chronic fatigue, dizziness, and heart palpitations, found relief after beginning a targeted detoxification and rebalancing program. Within months, her symptoms had reduced significantly, and she was able to resume her daily activities without the constant fear of fainting or overwhelming fatigue. What made the difference? Addressing the underlying deficiencies and toxicities that were triggering her POTS symptoms.
If you or someone you love is living with POTS, it can feel overwhelming to figure out where to start. But the steps toward rebalancing your body are simpler than you might think. Here are a few practical tips to get started today:
Prioritize Hydration:
Stay hydrated with electrolyte-rich fluids. Proper hydration helps support blood circulation and can reduce dizziness and fatigue.
Test for Deficiencies:
Don’t guess what’s going on in your body—test it. At Love Energy Wellness, we offer at-home health tests that can help reveal any nutrient deficiencies or hormone imbalances contributing to POTS.
Incorporate Mindful Movement:
Practices like yoga, Tai Chi, or even simple breathwork exercises can help reduce stress and calm the nervous system.
Reach Out for Support:
Managing POTS can be complex, and you don’t have to do it alone. Working with an integrative health practitioner at Love Energy Wellness can provide you with the personalized guidance you need to find lasting relief.
POTS may be challenging, but with the right integrative health approach, it’s possible to regain control over your body and improve your quality of life. By addressing the root causes of the imbalance— through the balance of nutrition, detoxification, stress reduction and more—you can support your body’s natural healing process and take steps toward a brighter, healthier future.
If you’re ready to explore how integrative health can help with POTS, schedule a free consultation with me at Love Energy Wellness. Together, we’ll create a personalized wellness plan to get you standing strong again.

Hey there! Let’s talk about something we usually don’t talk about at the dinner table—parasites. Yup, I said it. Parasites are a lot more common than you think, and the fact is, you could have them right now and not even know it. In fact, 1 in 3 people are carrying these tiny invaders, and they’re experts at flying under the radar. But your body always knows, and trust me, it’s trying to tell you! That’s why I do an annual parasite protocol, and after reading this, you just might want to as well. (note: If you prefer podcasts over blogs - TUNE IN HERE)
First things first—parasites aren’t just a problem you pick up while traveling to exotic places. They’re actually much closer to home. Swimming in lakes and rivers, gardening, eating local fruits and veggies, sushi lovers, and yes, even letting your dog lick your face (guilty—my Aussie, Luna, does it all the time!)—all of these activities can expose you to parasites.
The problem is, they don’t always cause obvious symptoms. Some people feel totally fine while harboring these freeloaders. Others experience anything from bloating, gas, and digestive distress to more surprising symptoms like fatigue, skin issues, brain fog, or even joint pain. That’s why I say parasites are sneaky—they can mimic other health issues, making them tricky to identify.
And did you know that when parasites are present, your body prioritizes fighting them over other issues like gut bacteria overgrowth, heavy metal toxicity, or even mold exposure? That’s why dealing with parasites first is so important when it comes to regaining your health.
Okay, so what should you look out for? Here are some common (and not-so-common) symptoms that could point to a parasitic infection:
Bloating, gas, constipation, or diarrhea
Unexplained weight changes (either gain or loss)
Chronic fatigue (even after a good night’s sleep)
Skin issues like rashes, itching, or acne
Brain fog or trouble concentrating
Teeth grinding (especially at night)
Schizophrenia (Yep - you read that right)
Joint pain or muscle aches
New food sensitivities that seem to pop up out of nowhere
Sound familiar? Even if just one or two of these symptoms ring a bell (oh, let’s add tinnitus to the list), it might be worth checking for parasites. After all, they’re way more common than we realize.
Now that we know parasites are lurking around in our everyday lives, let’s talk about why I do a cleanse annually. Here's why it’s a smart move:
I swim in lakes and rivers – Water sources like lakes and rivers are prime spots for parasites, especially after rain washes contaminants in.
I spend a lot of time in the garden – Parasites love the soil. Getting your hands dirty might be good for your soul, but not so much for your intestines!
I eat local produce and wild berries – While farm-to-table is fantastic, produce can carry parasites from the soil it’s grown in, even if it's organic.
I love sushi – Raw fish? It’s a no-brainer—sushi is delicious, but it’s also one of the most common ways to pick up parasites.
My dog Luna loves licking my face – I love my Aussie, but her kisses could be transferring more than just affection.
Each of these activities puts me at risk, so I make sure to cleanse every year to keep myself feeling my best.
If you’re ready to start a parasite protocol, autumn is the perfect time to do it! Fall is all about transition and renewal—it’s the season to support your body’s natural detoxification processes. Plus, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, fall is when our bodies are primed for a deep cleanse.
But here’s a little fun fact: parasites are more active around the full moon. Your serotonin levels spike during this time, which parasites are drawn to. This makes them easier to flush out, making the full moon an ideal time to start a cleanse.
Before jumping into a parasite protocol, it’s a great idea to prepare your body with a 7-day functional medicine liver detox. Why? Because parasites thrive in a toxic environment. Clearing out toxins from your liver and digestive system beforehand makes your body a less attractive place for parasites to hide, and it ensures you get the best possible results from your cleanse.
You can grab the detox kit I use over at my shop on Love Energy Wellness. It’s simple to follow and gives your body the reset it needs before tackling parasites.
Not sure if you even have parasites? No problem. At Love Energy Wellness, we offer an easy-to-use, at-home parasite stool test that takes the guesswork out of it. You send in a sample (don’t worry, it’s quick and painless), and you’ll get a clear answer on whether parasites are present. It’s a powerful tool that helps you take control of your health with precision. You can find the test here.
When it’s time to do the actual cleanse, I go with the Para Support Protocol by Equilife. It’s super gentle but highly effective at eliminating parasites, and it comes with everything you need to complete the cleanse without any hassle. While I can’t directly link the supplements here due to FDA regulations (crazy, right?), you can find everything, including the Para Support and liver detox, in my shop at Love Energy Wellness.
If you’re experiencing any of the symptoms I mentioned, or if you’re swimming, gardening, eating sushi, or getting those slobbery dog kisses like me, it might be time to give your body a reset. Parasites are more common than we think, but they don’t have to take control of your health. With a simple cleanse and some preparation, you can support your body’s natural defenses and feel your best.

When it comes to health and wellness, supplements often take center stage. We reach for them to boost our energy, support our immune system, and fill in the nutritional gaps we might be missing from our diet. And while supplements can be powerful allies on our health journey, there’s a hard truth we need to confront: there are some things we simply can’t out-supplement. Whether it's poor diet, lack of exercise, inadequate sleep, or chronic stress, no pill or powder can make up for these fundamental aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
In this post, we’ll dive deep into the areas where supplements just aren’t enough—and why addressing these foundational elements is crucial for achieving lasting health. Plus, I’ll share a real-life client story that highlights the importance of a holistic approach and introduce you to our new program based on the IHP DESTRESS protocol, designed to help you achieve wellness from every angle. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Let’s start by acknowledging the obvious—supplements are incredibly useful. They can support everything from gut health to brain function, and they’re an essential tool for addressing specific deficiencies. But here’s the reality: supplements alone won’t fix a poor lifestyle. They can’t override the effects of consistently unhealthy choices, and they certainly can’t replace the basics that your body needs to thrive.
---
Think you can eat junk food all day and balance it out with a multivitamin? Think again. Whole, nutrient-dense foods provide essential nutrients, fiber, and phytonutrients that no supplement can fully replicate. Your body thrives on real food, not just the isolated nutrients found in a pill.
Movement is medicine. Regular exercise supports cardiovascular health, boosts mood, enhances brain function, and so much more. No supplement can give you the benefits of a good workout. Your body needs movement to stay strong, flexible, and resilient.
While supplements like melatonin or magnesium can help with sleep, they can’t make up for poor sleep habits. Consistent, quality sleep is non-negotiable. Your body and mind need that restorative time to repair, detoxify, and prepare for the day ahead.
Stress is often the silent saboteur of all your health efforts. Chronic stress affects every system in your body, leading to issues like gut imbalances, hormonal disruptions, and weakened immunity. And here’s the kicker—no supplement can fix stress if you’re not addressing its root causes.
---
Let me share a story with you. One of my clients, who had just completed the CBO gut rebalancing Protocol, was on the path to recovery from her gut issues. She was feeling great—full of energy and optimism. But there was one thing she didn’t address: the stress in her life.
As time went on, the stress took its toll. Slowly but surely, her gut issues started to creep back in. Fatigue set in, and the symptoms she thought she had conquered began to reappear. It was as if all her hard work had been undone.
This setback was a wake-up call. Supplements alone couldn’t solve her problems because they weren’t addressing the root cause—stress. That’s when we revisited the entire IHP DESTRESS™ Protocol, with a special focus on stress reduction. Once she committed to a holistic approach, balancing not just her gut but also her stress levels, she finally saw lasting improvement. Her health rebounded, and this time, it stayed that way.
This story highlights a crucial point: true, lasting health comes from addressing every aspect of your lifestyle. The DESTRESS Protocol™ isn’t just about taking the right supplements—it’s about a comprehensive approach that covers:
Diet: Fueling your body with the right nutrients
Exercise: Incorporating effective movement for vitality
Stress Reduction: Techniques to manage and lower stress
Toxin Removal: Eliminating harmful substances from your body
Rest: Ensuring restorative sleep and relaxation
Emotional Balance: Cultivating a positive and resilient mindset
Success Mindset: Developing a growth-oriented approach to achieve your goals
Science-backed Supplements: Using evidence-based supplements to support your health
By integrating all these elements, you create a foundation for health that supplements can enhance, rather than replace. It’s about working with your body’s natural processes, not trying to shortcut them.
If you’re the kind of person who’s ready to take your health to the next level, I’m excited to introduce our new ABUNDANT ENERGY program based on the DESTRESS™ Protocol! This program is designed to guide you through all 8 points of the DESTRESS™ Protocol with detailed videos, helpful downloads, and an option to upgrade to our LifeForce 360 weekly live group coaching.
This program isn’t just about adding more supplements to your regimen—it’s about equipping you with the tools, knowledge, and support you need to create real, lasting change in your life. Supplements are powerful, but they’re not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle. To truly thrive, you need to focus on the fundamentals—eating well, moving your body, getting quality sleep, and managing stress. If you’re relying on supplements alone, it’s time to reconsider your approach and start working on the whole picture.
Ready to get started? Check out our ABUNDANT ENERGY to DESTRESS™ program and take the first step towards achieving wellness from every angle. Remember, true health isn’t something you can out-supplement—it’s something you build, one healthy habit at a time.

Inflammation can actually help you be healthy as it’s your body's natural response to injury and illness, acting as a protective mechanism. However, chronic imbalanced inflammation can lead to a host of health issues, including persistent low energy. In this blog, we'll explore the five root causes of imbalanced inflammation and how addressing them can help you regain your vitality. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Quality sleep is essential for maintaining a balanced inflammatory response. During deep sleep, your body performs critical repair processes, including reducing inflammation. Chronic sleep deprivation disrupts these processes, leading to increased levels of inflammatory markers like C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6). Symptoms of poor sleep-induced inflammation include fatigue, brain fog, and a weakened immune system.
2. Omega-3 to Omega-6 Imbalance
Your body requires a balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids to regulate inflammation. Omega-3s, found in fish oil and flaxseeds, are anti-inflammatory, while Omega-6s, found in many processed foods, can be pro-inflammatory when consumed in excess. A diet high in Omega-6 and low in Omega-3 leads to chronic inflammation, manifesting as joint pain, fatigue, and increased susceptibility to illness.
3. Poor Diet
A diet high in processed foods, sugars, and unhealthy fats can trigger chronic inflammation. These foods disrupt gut health, leading to increased intestinal permeability (leaky gut) and systemic inflammation. Symptoms include digestive issues, skin problems, and chronic fatigue. On the other hand, a diet rich in whole, anti-inflammatory foods like fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins can help reduce inflammation and boost energy levels.
4. Chronic Stress
Stress is a significant contributor to chronic inflammation. When you're stressed, your body releases cortisol, a hormone that, in high levels, can suppress your immune system and promote inflammation. Persistent stress leads to symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and muscle pain. Incorporating stress management techniques like meditation, exercise, and mindfulness can help mitigate these effects.
5. Environmental Toxins
Exposure to environmental toxins, such as pollutants, pesticides, and heavy metals, can lead to chronic inflammation. These toxins can trigger an immune response that results in persistent low-grade inflammation. Symptoms of toxin-induced inflammation include unexplained fatigue, headaches, and allergies. Reducing exposure to toxins and supporting your body's natural detoxification processes can help restore balance.
Maintaining balanced inflammation is crucial for overall health and energy levels. Chronic inflammation can lead to various health issues, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. By addressing the root causes of imbalanced inflammation, you can improve your energy, enhance your immune function, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
Understanding your inflammation levels is the first step in addressing and managing it effectively. As a woman entrepreneur, you’re familiar with the pressures of managing a business, balancing personal life, and maintaining health. In the midst of this juggling act, an often-overlooked aspect of your health could be impacting your productivity and overall well-being: the Calcium Shell. Let's delve into what this means, its implications, and how an integrative health approach can help you achieve optimal health and business success. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
A Calcium Shell occurs when calcium levels in the body exceed 170 parts per million, as identified through a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) test. This condition indicates soft tissue calcification, where calcium, instead of being utilized for bone and teeth health, is deposited in soft tissues such as joints, muscles, organs, and even the brain. This can be due to a lack of essential minerals like potassium, magnesium, and boron, which normally help keep calcium in the bones.
Imagine calcium buildup similar to stalactites and stalagmites in a cave or the deposits seen in hard water systems. In the body, this buildup can block certain functions, leading to various health issues and potentially affecting one's personality and emotional responses.
Several factors can contribute to the development of a Calcium Shell:
1. Copper Toxicity: Copper lowers potassium and raises calcium, driving it into soft tissues. This is a common cause of Calcium Shells.
2. Iodine Deficiency: Iodine helps decalcify calcium, so a deficiency can lead to calcium accumulation.
3. Emotional Trauma or Chronic Stress: High stress can cause calcium to build up around cells, acting as a barrier to emotional responses and stress management.
4. Overuse of Calcium Supplements: Excessive calcium intake, especially without adequate levels of potassium, magnesium, and boron, can lead to buildup.
5. Hard Drinking Water: Water with high mineral content can contribute to soft tissue calcification.
A Calcium Shell can manifest through various physical and emotional symptoms:
1. Physical Symptoms: Joint and muscle pain, cramps, spasms, twitches, arthritis, osteoporosis, bone spurs, and kidney stones. Calcium is a sharp mineral, and its buildup in soft tissues can cause significant discomfort and chronic pain.
2. Emotional Symptoms: Feelings of disconnection, apathy, and emotional numbness. People with a Calcium Shell may have difficulty connecting with their emotions, feeling flat or unresponsive to situations that previously elicited strong reactions.
As an entrepreneur, your health is directly linked to your business performance. Chronic health issues stemming from a Calcium Shell can lead to:
1. Decreased Productivity: Fatigue and pain can lower your ability to work efficiently.
2. Impaired Decision-Making: Cognitive issues and brain fog can affect your strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
3. Increased Absenteeism: Frequent health-related absences can disrupt business operations and continuity.
Addressing a Calcium Shell requires a multifaceted approach, integrating diet, lifestyle, and targeted supplementation. Here’s a comprehensive plan:
Begin with a precision at-home Minerals & Metals (HTMA) test to analyze your mineral levels and identify imbalances. This test provides a detailed overview of your body's mineral status, offering a roadmap for targeted interventions.
1. Balanced Diet: Focus on whole foods, lean proteins, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates. Reduce processed foods, sugars, and excessive dairy products.
2. Magnesium-Rich Foods: Include leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and whole grains in your diet. Magnesium helps balance calcium levels and supports overall mineral metabolism.
3. Hydration: Drink at least eight glasses of clean, filtered water a day to support detoxification and overall health.
Based on your HTMA results, an integrative health practitioner can recommend specific supplements:
1. Magnesium Supplements: To help balance calcium levels.
2. Adrenal Support: Adaptogens like ashwagandha and rhodiola can support adrenal health and reduce stress.
3. Vitamin D: To improve calcium utilization and bone health.
1. Stress Management: Incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and yoga into your daily routine. These practices help reduce cortisol levels and improve overall well-being.
2. Exercise: Engage in regular physical activity to support bone health, improve mood, and enhance cardiovascular function. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week.
3. Sleep Hygiene: Prioritize good sleep hygiene to ensure you get 7-9 hours of restful sleep per night. Quality sleep is crucial for recovery and hormonal balance.

As an entrepreneur, you're always seeking ways to optimize your health and performance. The demands of running a business often require peak mental and physical condition. One of the key components to achieving this is ensuring that your body gets the necessary vitamins and minerals it needs. However, the market is flooded with various multi-vitamin supplements, and choosing the right one can be daunting. This blog aims to shed light on the differences between conventional and functional (or orthomolecular) medicine multi-vitamin supplements, focusing on the importance of the percentage of daily values, the quality of ingredients, and the potential impacts on your health and business. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Conventional multi-vitamin supplements are widely available and often the first choice for many due to their affordability and convenience. However, these supplements are frequently manufactured with cost-cutting measures in mind, leading to a reliance on cheaper, less absorbable ingredients.
- Cyanocobalamin is a synthetic form of B12 commonly used in conventional supplements. Cyanocobalamin does indeed contain a cyanide molecule, but the amount is extremely small and claimed to be not harmful in the quantities typically found in supplements. The main concern with cyanocobalamin is not the cyanide content but its bioavailability. While it is cheaper to produce, it is not as easily absorbed or utilized by the body. The liver must convert it into the active form, methylcobalamin, which adds an unnecessary step that can limit its effectiveness.
- Methylcobalamin is the bioactive form of B12 used in functional supplements. It is readily available for the body to use, leading to better absorption and efficacy.
- Oxides (e.g., Magnesium Oxide, Zinc Oxide): These forms are commonly used due to their low cost. However, they are poorly absorbed and can cause gastrointestinal discomfort.
- Chelated Minerals (e.g., Magnesium Bisglycinate, Zinc Picolinate): These forms are bound to amino acids, which significantly enhances their absorption and bioavailability, making them more effective in supporting health.
Functional or orthomolecular medicine focuses on using high-quality, bioavailable forms of vitamins and minerals to ensure optimal absorption and efficacy. This approach often leads to higher costs, but the benefits far outweigh the investment when considering long-term health and productivity.
- Methylcobalamin (B12): Directly usable by the body, improving energy levels, cognitive function, and overall vitality.
- Chelated Minerals: These are better absorbed and utilized, supporting various physiological functions more effectively than their conventional counterparts.
- Functional supplements typically provide higher percentages of daily values tailored to individual needs. For example, the B12 content might be significantly higher to meet the increased demands of an entrepreneur's busy lifestyle.
Choosing the wrong type of multi-vitamin supplement can have significant short and long-term impacts on your health and business performance.
- Poorly absorbed vitamins and minerals can lead to suboptimal energy production, leaving you feeling fatigued and unable to perform at your best.
- Inadequate B12 and other essential nutrients can impair cognitive functions, such as memory, focus, and decision-making, crucial for business success.
- Ingredients like magnesium oxide can cause gastrointestinal distress, distracting you from your work and reducing productivity.
- Persistent deficiencies in essential vitamins and minerals can lead to chronic health conditions, such as anemia, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular diseases, which can severely impact your ability to run a business.
- Long-term health issues not only affect your well-being but also result in increased healthcare costs, adding financial strain to your business.
- Continuous poor health can lead to burnout, reducing your ability to sustain and grow your business, ultimately risking business failure.
Integrative Health combines the best of conventional and functional medicine, focusing on individualized care and the use of high-quality supplements to support optimal health. By addressing the root causes of health issues and using evidence-based approaches, Integrative Health can help entrepreneurs maintain peak performance and avoid the pitfalls of poor health.
- Integrative Health practitioners assess your unique needs and create personalized supplement plans, ensuring you get the right nutrients in the right forms and dosages.

As an entrepreneur, your health is your most valuable asset. Investing in high-quality, functional multi-vitamin supplements and adopting an Integrative Health approach can help you avoid the pitfalls of poor health and achieve sustained business success.
- Opt for functional medicine multi-vitamins with bioavailable forms of nutrients and appropriate daily values tailored to your needs.

In the fast-paced, high-stakes world of entrepreneurship, maintaining peak performance is crucial. Yet, many entrepreneurs overlook a key component of their health that directly influences their energy, motivation, decision-making, and overall success: testosterone levels. Both men and women can suffer from imbalances in this critical hormone, which can have profound consequences on life and business. Fortunately, Integrative Health offers a comprehensive approach to naturally balancing testosterone through diet, exercise, stress reduction, toxin removal, sleep optimization, and targeted supplementation. In this guide, we'll explore the consequences of low and high testosterone, offer actionable suggestions for each aspect of the Integrative Health protocol, and explain how this holistic approach can drive your entrepreneurial success. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Low testosterone can manifest differently in men and women, but the overarching effects can be detrimental to both personal and professional life.
- In Men: Symptoms include fatigue, depression, reduced muscle mass, increased body fat, decreased libido, and cognitive difficulties such as poor concentration and memory issues. In the context of business, these symptoms can lead to decreased productivity, lack of motivation, and impaired decision-making.
- In Women: Women with low testosterone may experience fatigue, mood swings, weight gain, muscle weakness, and reduced sexual desire. These symptoms can result in decreased energy levels, impaired emotional resilience, and reduced overall efficiency in their professional endeavors.
While high testosterone is less common, it can also disrupt health and productivity.
- In Men: Excessive testosterone can lead to aggression, irritability, risk-taking behavior, and sleep disturbances. These traits can undermine team dynamics, lead to poor decision-making, and negatively impact business relationships.
- In Women: High testosterone levels in women can cause acne, hair loss, excessive facial hair growth, irregular menstrual cycles, and mood swings. These symptoms can affect self-esteem, disrupt personal and professional interactions, and lead to a decline in overall business performance.
Integrative Health combines conventional and alternative therapies to address the root causes of health issues, rather than just treating symptoms. For entrepreneurs, this means a comprehensive plan that includes at-home functional hormone testing (such as saliva tests), followed by a personalized protocol to balance testosterone naturally.
Functional hormone testing, particularly through saliva, offers a non-invasive, accurate way to assess testosterone levels. By understanding your baseline, you can tailor interventions more effectively.
Actionable Step: Utilize at-home saliva test kits to measure your testosterone levels. These kits typically involve collecting a saliva sample at specific times of the day and sending it to the lab for analysis. This will provide a clear picture of your hormonal health and help guide the subsequent steps in your Integrative Health protocol.
Diet plays a crucial role in hormone balance. Certain foods can help boost testosterone naturally, while others should be avoided.
- Increase Healthy Fats: Incorporate sources of healthy fats like avocados, raw nuts, seeds, and high quality olive oil. These fats are essential for hormone production.
- Consume Lean Proteins: Include lean proteins such as pasture raised chicken, wild caught fish, and organic legumes to support muscle mass and overall health.
- Eat Cruciferous Vegetables: Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts can help regulate hormone levels by reducing excess estrogen.
- Limit Sugar and Processed Foods: These can lead to weight gain and insulin resistance, negatively impacting testosterone levels.
Actionable Step: Create a meal plan that includes a balance of healthy fats, lean proteins, and plenty of vegetables. Avoid processed foods and sugary snacks. Consider consulting with a nutritionist who specializes in hormonal health.
Exercise is a powerful tool for balancing testosterone levels. Strength training, steady state cardio and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) have been shown to boost testosterone.
- Strength Training: Lifting weights and engaging in resistance exercises can increase muscle mass and boost testosterone levels.
- HIIT: Short bursts of intense exercise followed by rest periods can enhance testosterone production more effectively than steady-state cardio.
Actionable Step: Incorporate a mix of strength training and HIIT into your weekly exercise routine. Aim for at least three sessions per week with a resting day in between, focusing on major muscle groups and varying the intensity.
Chronic stress can elevate cortisol levels, which in turn can suppress testosterone production. Managing stress is crucial for maintaining hormonal balance.
- Mindfulness Practices: Techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, Tai-Chi, Qigong and yoga can help reduce stress and lower cortisol levels.
- Time Management: Prioritize tasks and delegate when possible to reduce the burden of stress from business responsibilities.
Actionable Step: Dedicate at least 10-15 minutes 2 times each day to mindfulness practices. Consider starting your day with meditation or ending it with yoga to unwind and reset.
Environmental toxins can disrupt endocrine function and impact testosterone levels. Reducing exposure to these toxins is essential.
- Avoid BPA: Found in plastics, BPA can interfere with hormone levels. Use glass or stainless-steel containers instead of plastic.
- Choose Natural Products: Opt for natural, chemical-free personal care and cleaning products to minimize exposure to endocrine disruptors.
Actionable Step: Review the products you use daily and replace any that contain harmful chemicals with natural alternatives. Check labels for common endocrine disruptors such as parabens, phthalates, and triclosan. Join us every 90 days for our community 7 Day Functional medicine Detox Protocol.
Quality sleep is vital for hormone regulation. Poor sleep can lower testosterone levels and negatively impact overall health and performance.
- Establish a Routine: Go to bed and wake up at the same time each day to regulate your body's internal clock.
- Create a Sleep-Conducive Environment: Ensure your bedroom is dark, quiet, and cool. Limit exposure to screens and blue light before bedtime.
Actionable Step: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. Develop a bedtime routine that promotes relaxation, such as reading a book or taking a warm bath before bed.
Supplements can support hormone balance when diet and lifestyle changes are not enough. However, it is important to choose supplements wisely and based on individual needs.
- Vitamin D: Adequate levels of vitamin D are associated with healthy testosterone levels. Consider a supplement if you have limited sun exposure.
- Zinc and Magnesium: These minerals play a role in testosterone production and overall hormonal health.
Actionable Step: Consult with a Level-2 certified Integrative Health Practitioner to determine if you have any deficiencies that could be addressed with supplements. Avoid self-prescribing high doses without professional guidance.
By implementing these integrative health strategies, entrepreneurs can optimize their testosterone levels naturally, leading to numerous benefits in both personal and professional life.
Increased Energy and Motivation: Balanced testosterone levels can enhance energy and drive, enabling you to tackle business challenges with vigor.
Improved Cognitive Function: Better hormonal balance can lead to sharper focus, clearer thinking, and improved decision-making capabilities.
Enhanced Emotional Resilience: Managing stress and improving overall health can make you more resilient to the emotional ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
Better Physical Health: A healthy diet, regular exercise, and adequate sleep contribute to overall well-being, reducing the risk of burnout and illness.
Stronger Business Relationships: Improved mood and mental clarity can enhance your interactions with clients, partners, and employees, fostering better business relationships and collaboration.

As entrepreneurs, we are constantly striving to maximize our energy levels to drive success in our ventures. Yet, amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we often overlook the profound connection between our personal energy and the majestic phenomenon known as the Aurora Borealis. In this blog, we will delve into the mesmerizing dance of the auroras, explore their correlation with solar storms, and uncover how these cosmic events can impact our well-being and business endeavors. Moreover, we will discover how Integrative Health offers a unique perspective and solutions to navigate these influences, ultimately fostering resilience and success. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, is a breathtaking display of colorful lights that illuminate the polar skies. This natural wonder occurs when charged particles from the sun, known as solar wind, interact with the Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere, creating luminous patterns of light. While it is commonly associated with the Arctic regions, the Aurora Australis also graces the skies of the Southern Hemisphere, albeit with less recognition.
Despite its association with polar regions, the Aurora Borealis can sometimes be visible at lower latitudes, offering glimpses of its beauty to those living closer to the equator. This occurrence is often attributed to solar storms, which occur when the sun releases bursts of energy in the form of solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). These solar disturbances can disrupt Earth's magnetic field and propel charged particles towards the poles, resulting in enhanced auroral displays even at lower latitudes.
Solar storms not only mesmerize us with dazzling auroras but also exert tangible effects on our planet, particularly on power and communication systems. The influx of charged particles can induce geomagnetic storms, leading to fluctuations in the Earth's magnetic field. These fluctuations, in turn, can disrupt power grids, satellite communications, and navigation systems, posing significant challenges to modern infrastructure.
Beyond their impact on technology, solar storms also influence biological systems, including our own. Humans are bioelectromagnetic beings, with our bodies generating electromagnetic fields (EMFs) through processes such as brain activity (measured by EEG) and heart function (measured by EKG). As such, we are inherently connected to the electromagnetic environment of our planet, making us susceptible to its fluctuations.
Emerging research suggests that solar storms may affect how we think and feel, potentially exacerbating symptoms of stress, anxiety, and fatigue. Moreover, individuals may experience these effects differently, depending on factors such as their sensitivity to EMFs and overall health status. Unfortunately, conventional medicine often overlooks the root cause of such symptoms, attributing them solely to psychological or physiological factors without considering environmental influences.
In the face of cosmic influences like solar storms, Integrative Health offers a holistic approach to well-being that acknowledges the interconnectedness of mind, body, and environment. By embracing principles from both traditional and alternative medicine, Integrative Health empowers individuals to optimize their health and resilience amidst external stressors.
One of the key strategies in Integrative Health involves awareness and preparation. By monitoring solar activity through resources such as the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), individuals can anticipate potential disruptions and take proactive measures to mitigate their impact. This may include optimizing sleep patterns, practicing mindfulness techniques, and utilizing grounding techniques to balance bioelectromagnetic fields.
Moreover, Integrative Health emphasizes the importance of resilience-building practices that strengthen the body's ability to adapt to stressors.
Functional at-home testing to discover deficiencies and toxicities
Adopting a nutrient-rich diet of brightly colored organic fruits and vegetables
Engaging in regular physical activity, at least 150 minutes per week
Earthing by getting your bare feet on the ground to balance the buildup of positive ions
Optimizing rest for at least 90 minutes of deep sleep for body restoration and 120 minutes of REM sleep to restore the brain
And incorporating stress-reduction techniques such as meditation, clinical hypnosis, massage and acupuncture.
By nurturing physical, mental, and emotional well-being, individuals can enhance their capacity to thrive in the face of cosmic challenges. For more effective strategies, Listen Here.

In the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship, success is often perceived through the lens of financial gain and market dominance. However, the journey of entrepreneurship is also deeply intertwined with personal well-being, especially when it comes to the health of our loved ones, including our children. For entrepreneurs navigating the challenges of raising a child with autism, understanding the intricate relationship between gut health and brain function becomes paramount. In this blog, we delve into the profound connection between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and gastrointestinal (GI) issues like leaky gut and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Moreover, we explore how embracing Integrative Health can offer a holistic solution, potentially transforming both personal and professional spheres. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Recent scientific research has shed light on the profound influence of the gut microbiome on brain health and function, giving rise to the concept of the gut-brain axis. This bidirectional communication system between the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system plays a pivotal role in regulating various physiological processes, including mood, cognition, and behavior.
In the context of autism, studies have consistently demonstrated a high prevalence of gastrointestinal issues among individuals on the spectrum. Research published in the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition highlights that up to 70% of children with ASD experience GI symptoms, such as abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, and bloating [1]. Furthermore, evidence suggests a correlation between the severity of GI symptoms and the severity of autistic behaviors [2].
Leaky gut, scientifically known as increased intestinal permeability, emerges as a central player in the gut-brain axis dysfunction observed in autism. This condition refers to the compromised integrity of the intestinal barrier, allowing harmful substances like toxins, undigested food particles, and bacteria to leak into the bloodstream. Consequently, this triggers systemic inflammation and immune dysregulation, exerting profound effects on neurological function and behavior.
Studies have documented elevated levels of inflammatory markers and impaired gut barrier function in individuals with autism [3]. Moreover, a meta-analysis published in JAMA Pediatrics found a significant association between gastrointestinal symptoms and leaky gut in children with ASD [4]. These findings underscore the critical role of addressing gut health in the management of autism spectrum disorder.
Alongside leaky gut, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) frequently coexists with autism, exacerbating the burden on affected individuals and their families. IBS is characterized by abdominal pain, bloating, altered bowel habits, and visceral hypersensitivity, significantly impairing quality of life.
Research indicates a higher prevalence of IBS symptoms in children with autism compared to neurotypical peers [5]. The intricate interplay between gut dysbiosis, immune activation, and neuroinflammation contributes to the pathogenesis of both conditions, highlighting the interconnectedness of the gut-brain axis in health and disease.
For entrepreneurs, the challenges associated with raising a child with autism are multifaceted, extending beyond the realms of personal life into the realm of business. The emotional toll of witnessing a loved one struggle with ASD and accompanying GI issues can impact productivity, decision-making, and overall well-being.
Moreover, entrepreneurs may face logistical challenges in balancing the demands of business ownership with caregiving responsibilities. The financial strain of accessing specialized therapies and interventions further compounds the stress, potentially hindering entrepreneurial success.
Children of business owners affected by autism often require additional support and resources to thrive, necessitating a proactive approach to addressing their unique needs. Failure to prioritize their health and well-being not only jeopardizes familial harmony but also undermines the long-term sustainability of the business venture.
Amidst the complexities of managing autism and GI issues, Integrative Health emerges as a beacon of hope, offering a comprehensive approach that integrates conventional medicine with evidence-based natural therapies. At the forefront of Integrative Health lies the recognition of the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, emphasizing personalized care and proactive disease prevention.
Central to the Integrative Health paradigm is the concept of functional medicine, which seeks to identify and address the root causes of illness rather than merely managing symptoms. Through advanced at-home functional lab testing, certified Level-2 Integrative Health Practitioners can gain insights into the unique biochemical imbalances and dysfunctions underlying ASD and GI disorders, guiding targeted interventions.
Integrative Health practitioners utilize a myriad of natural health protocols supported by rigorous scientific evidence to promote optimal gut health and neurological function in individuals with autism. These clinically proven natural health protocols encompass dietary modifications, nutritional supplementation, lifestyle interventions, stress management techniques, and mind-body therapies, some of which are based on 6000 year old Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
For instance, research published in Nutritional Neuroscience suggests that a gluten-free, casein-free (GFCF) diet may lead to improvements in autistic symptoms and GI problems by reducing inflammation and restoring gut integrity [6]. Similarly, supplementation with probiotics, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, and digestive enzymes has shown promise in ameliorating GI symptoms and enhancing neurodevelopmental outcomes in children with ASD [7][8].
Harnessing the power of Integrative Health empowers entrepreneurs to take proactive steps towards optimizing their child's health and well-being, fostering a nurturing environment conducive to personal and professional growth. By addressing the underlying imbalances driving autism and GI issues, Integrative Health paves the way for resilience, vitality, and success.
The journey of entrepreneurship is replete with challenges and uncertainties, yet it is also imbued with resilience, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. By embracing Integrative Health as a cornerstone of their family's wellness strategy, entrepreneurs can mitigate the impact of autism and GI issues on both personal and professional domains.
Moreover, prioritizing the health and happiness of their children instills invaluable lessons in empathy, compassion, and integrity, shaping future leaders poised to make a positive impact on the world. As entrepreneurs nurture their children's potential, they sow the seeds of success not only for their families but also for their businesses and communities.

Entering the realms of perimenopause and menopause can be like embarking on an unpredictable journey. For many women, this phase brings a myriad of physical and emotional changes that can significantly impact both personal well-being and professional endeavors. While conventional medicine often turns to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to manage symptoms, integrative health offers a more holistic approach, focusing on empowering the body to balance its hormones naturally. In this blog, we will explore the differences between perimenopause and menopause, the consequences on life and business, and how an integrative approach, coupled with functional lab testing, can pave the way for success in health and beyond.
Perimenopause marks the transitional phase leading up to menopause, typically starting in a woman's 40s but can begin earlier for some. During perimenopause, hormone levels, particularly estrogen and progesterone, fluctuate irregularly, leading to various symptoms such as irregular periods, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and sleep disturbances. Menopause, on the other hand, officially begins when a woman has gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, usually occurring around the age of 51 on average.
The physical and emotional symptoms of perimenopause and menopause can significantly impact a woman's quality of life and her ability to thrive in her professional endeavors. Fatigue, mood swings, and brain fog can hinder productivity and focus, while hot flashes and sleep disturbances can disrupt daily activities and lead to increased stress levels. Additionally, the emotional rollercoaster that accompanies hormonal changes may affect interpersonal relationships and confidence, potentially impacting career advancement and entrepreneurial pursuits.
Conventional medicine often prescribes hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to alleviate symptoms of perimenopause and menopause by artificially supplementing estrogen and progesterone. While HRT may provide relief for some women, it comes with potential risks and side effects, including an increased risk of blood clots, stroke, breast cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
Integrative health takes a more comprehensive approach, focusing on addressing the root causes of hormonal imbalances and supporting the body's innate ability to heal and regulate itself. Rather than simply masking symptoms, integrative practitioners aim to optimize overall health and well-being through lifestyle modifications, nutrition, stress management techniques, toxin removal and targeted supplementation.
One of the cornerstones of integrative health is the use of functional lab testing to gain insights into an individual's unique biochemistry and identify areas of imbalance. Love Energy Wellness offers the advanced Stress, Mood & Metabolism at-home lab test for a comprehensive analysis of hormone levels, including estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol, as well as thyroid function, insulin sensitivity, vitamin D levels, and more.
By assessing these biomarkers, certified level 2 Integrative Health Practitioners can tailor personalized wellness plans to address specific imbalances and support optimal health during perimenopause and menopause. For example, low levels of estrogen and progesterone may indicate the need for hormone-supportive herbs and nutrients, while imbalances in thyroid function or insulin resistance may require dietary modifications and targeted supplementation.
Armed with insights from functional lab testing and guided by an integrative approach, women can navigate perimenopause and menopause with greater ease and confidence. By addressing underlying imbalances and supporting the body's natural healing mechanisms, individuals can experience relief from symptoms, improved energy and vitality, enhanced mental clarity, and emotional resilience.
In the realm of business, optimal health is a cornerstone of success. By prioritizing self-care and addressing hormonal imbalances, women can maintain peak performance, creativity, and resilience in their professional pursuits. Whether climbing the corporate ladder or launching a startup, a balanced body and mind are essential assets for navigating the challenges and seizing the opportunities that arise.
Perimenopause and menopause are transformative phases of a woman's life, presenting both challenges and opportunities for growth and self-discovery. While conventional medicine offers hormone replacement therapy as a solution to alleviate symptoms, integrative health takes a more holistic approach, empowering women to support their bodies naturally through lifestyle adjustments, targeted supplementation, and personalized wellness plans informed by functional lab testing.

In the realm of integrative health, optimizing physical and mental energy is essential for success and vitality. The gut, often regarded as the body's second brain, plays a pivotal role in sustaining energy levels and mental clarity. However, when the gut experiences dysfunction, it can lead to a phenomenon known as a "shutdown gut," profoundly impacting energy levels and cognitive function. Today, we delve into the top four reasons behind a shutdown gut, elucidating the difference between food allergies and sensitivities, exploring the consequences on life and business, and introducing a unique solution through at-home functional lab testing. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Before diving into the intricacies of a "shutdown gut," it's crucial to distinguish between food allergies and sensitivities. While both can affect physical and mental well-being, they manifest differently in the body.
Food allergies typically trigger immediate and often severe immune responses, leading to symptoms such as hives, swelling, and even anaphylaxis. Conversely, food sensitivities, characterized by delayed reactions, involve the production of IgG antibodies in response to specific food antigens. These reactions can manifest as digestive issues, fatigue, headaches, and cognitive fog, affecting both physical and mental energy levels.
Now, let's explore the top four reasons behind a "shutdown gut" and their implications for physical and mental energy:
1. Suppressed Immune Response: In a "shutdown gut," the immune system may be compromised, resulting in a reduced ability to produce IgG antibodies in response to food antigens. This immune suppression can lead to diminished physical energy and mental clarity, impacting productivity and overall well-being.
2. Intestinal Permeability (Leaky Gut): Increased intestinal permeability, or leaky gut, is a hallmark of a "shutdown gut." When toxins and undigested food particles leak into the bloodstream, systemic inflammation can occur, sapping physical energy and impairing cognitive function.
3. Gut Dysbiosis: Imbalances in the gut microbiome can contribute to a "shutdown gut," disrupting communication between the gut and brain. With altered gut bacteria, energy levels may plummet, and mental acuity may suffer, affecting decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
4. Systemic Inflammation: Chronic inflammation, a common consequence of gut dysfunction, can drain physical energy reserves and cloud mental clarity. Inflammation-induced fatigue and cognitive fog can hinder performance in both personal and professional pursuits.
The consequences of a "shutdown gut" extend far beyond physical discomfort, profoundly impacting life and business:
- Reduced Physical and Mental Energy: Digestive issues, fatigue, and cognitive fog can diminish physical and mental energy levels, hindering productivity and enjoyment of daily activities.
- Impaired Decision-Making: Brain fog and cognitive decline associated with gut dysfunction can impair decision-making abilities, affecting strategic planning and execution in business endeavors.
- Decreased Resilience: A compromised gut can weaken the body's resilience to stress, leading to burnout and reduced capacity to overcome challenges in personal and professional life.
Fortunately, there's hope for reclaiming physical and mental energy through at-home functional lab testing. Love Energy Wellness offers comprehensive IgG food sensitivity testing, empowering individuals to identify hidden triggers and restore balance to their gut. By addressing underlying gut dysfunction, individuals can replenish their energy reserves and sharpen mental focus, paving the way for success in all aspects of life.
Understanding the root causes of a "shutdown gut" is crucial for avoiding failure and achieving success. By prioritizing gut health and utilizing functional lab testing as a diagnostic tool, individuals can:
- Maximize Physical Energy: By addressing gut dysfunction, individuals can replenish energy reserves, enhance physical stamina, and optimize performance in daily activities and professional pursuits.
- Sharpen Mental Clarity: Restoring gut health can sharpen mental focus, improve cognitive function, and enhance decision-making abilities, leading to greater success in personal and professional endeavors.

In the bustling rhythm of modern life, it's easy to overlook the most fundamental aspect of our health: hydration. When I ask my private wellness clients on our first call how much water they drink daily, the majority admit “not enough”. Yet, the importance of proper hydration cannot be overstated, especially when considering its profound effects on our overall well-being, from alleviating back pain to enhancing longevity. In this exploration, we'll delve into the science behind hydration, particularly as it relates to back pain and disc health, and unveil the integrative approach that offers a holistic solution to this crucial aspect of our health. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Before we dive into the integrative approach, let's first grasp the significance of hydration, especially concerning back pain. Our spinal discs, those essential cushions between vertebrae, are predominantly non-vascular, meaning they don't have direct blood flow. Instead, these discs rely on diffusion to absorb nutrients and expel waste products. Dehydration compromises this process, leading to diminished disc height, increased friction between vertebrae, and ultimately, back pain.
Research corroborates this link between hydration and back pain. Studies have shown that even mild dehydration can exacerbate existing back pain and hinder recovery from spinal injuries. Moreover, dehydration is associated with decreased spinal disc height, which can predispose individuals to disc herniation and chronic back issues.
So, how can we ensure proper hydration to safeguard our back health and overall wellness? Enter the integrative approach to hydration—a comprehensive strategy that goes beyond simply drinking water and incorporates various factors such as water quality, timing, and supplementation.
Not all water is created equal. Municipal tap water may contain impurities and additives that compromise its quality, while well water might vary in mineral content and purity. Spring water, on the other hand, offers natural purity and mineral richness, making it an excellent choice for hydration. Alternatively, reverse osmosis (RO) water removes contaminants but may lack essential minerals. And finally, you may be surprised to learn that purified water is sometimes derived from wastewater.
When it comes to supporting optimal hydration and overall health, spring water that has been tested emerges as a superior option, providing not only hydration but also vital minerals necessary for bodily functions. You can Find A Spring near you.
In addition to prioritizing water quality, adopting a structured hydration protocol can optimize its benefits. Start your day by drinking a glass of water upon waking, preferably infused with organic lemon. Think about it this way: If you’re getting the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep, you already spent ⅓ of the day without water and most likely wake up clinically dehydrated. This quick-win ritual kickstarts hydration and provides a refreshing boost of detoxifying antioxidants and electrolytes. I like to supercharge my water with a powerful antioxidant powder.
As the day progresses, continue to hydrate consistently, aiming to consume at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily as a minimum baseline. Each afternoon try adding a squeeze of organic lime and a pinch of Redmond Real Salt to your water to replenish electrolytes for energy and enhance hydration, promoting better cellular function and fluid balance.
Embracing the integrative approach to hydration isn't just about drinking more water—it's about creating healthy habits and nurturing a holistic mindset towards wellness. Integrative health coaching offers personalized guidance and support, empowering individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes that optimize hydration and overall health.

However, neglecting health can have dire consequences on both personal well-being and professional performance. This is where Integrative Health steps in, offering a holistic approach to wellness that empowers entrepreneurs to prioritize their health without sacrificing their ambitions.
Imagine completing an amazing 7 or 21-day functional medicine detox protocol. You've dedicated yourself to cleansing your body, reviving your energy, and kickstarting healthier habits. But what happens after the detox ends? How do you maintain the momentum and commitment to your health goals amidst the chaos of entrepreneurship?
Here's where the mindset shift comes into play. It's not just about completing the detox; it's about embracing the journey of sustainable health practices. Let's delve into some key strategies to stay on track and elevate your health game post-detox: (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
First and foremost, celebrate your achievement! Completing a detox is no small feat. Recognize the dedication and discipline you've demonstrated throughout the process. Celebrating milestones, no matter how small, reinforces positive behavior and boosts motivation.
While consistency is key, it's essential to allow yourself some flexibility. Integrate one flex meal per week into your routine, where you can indulge in your favorite treats guilt-free. This balanced approach prevents feelings of deprivation and promotes a healthy relationship with food.
Take a moment to acknowledge the positive outcomes of your detox journey. Perhaps you've experienced increased energy levels, clearer skin, or improved mental clarity. Recognizing these benefits reinforces the value of prioritizing your health and serves as a powerful motivator to continue your wellness journey.
Harness the momentum gained from the detox to establish and maintain healthy habits. Embrace those practices such as:
12-16 hour overnight intermittent fasting
Following a nutrient -dense anti-inflammatory diet
Prioritizing meal timing for balanced blood sugar levels
Targeted supplementation to maintain detoxification
Adhering to regular sleep patterns, and
Incorporating consistent exercise and recovery into your routine
These habits lay the foundation for long-term health and vitality.
Integrative Health offers a comprehensive approach to wellness that considers the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Incorporate holistic practices such as regular sauna sessions (3-4 times per week) to support detoxification, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. These holistic modalities complement traditional approaches to health, fostering overall well-being.
Maintain your commitment to health by planning your next detox protocol. Aim for a 90-day interval between seasonal detoxes to allow your body ample time to reset and rejuvenate. Setting concrete goals and timelines provides structure and accountability, ensuring that you stay on track with your health objectives.
Now, let's address the impact of prioritizing health on both life and business:
Neglecting health can have profound consequences on both personal and professional spheres. Poor health not only diminishes quality of life but also impedes productivity, creativity, and decision-making abilities. As an integrative health practitioner, I'm always on the lookout for natural ways to support my clients' well-being. Recently, I've become fascinated with the humble cruciferous vegetable family and their incredible detoxifying compound, sulforaphane. In this blog post, I'll explore the remarkable benefits of sulforaphane, how it works, and which cruciferous vegetables have the highest concentrations. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Sulforaphane is a potent antioxidant that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties, support detoxification, and even boost brain function. This compound is created when the enzyme myrosinase transforms glucoraphanin, a glucosinolate found in cruciferous vegetables. When we eat these veggies, myrosinase is activated, unlocking a precursor called broccophane and releasing sulforaphane and its incredible detoxification benefits.
Sulforaphane has been extensively studied for its role in cancer prevention and treatment. Research suggests that it may inhibit the growth of cancer cells, induce apoptosis (programmed cell death), and even reduce the risk of cancer recurrence. Sulforaphane has been shown to be effective against various types of cancer, including breast, colon, prostate, and lung cancer.
Sulforaphane is also a powerful antioxidant and detoxifier. It activates Nrf2, a protein that regulates antioxidant production in the body, helping to neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress. Additionally, sulforaphane supports phase II detoxification enzymes, which aid in the elimination of toxins from the body.
Emerging research suggests that sulforaphane may also have neuroprotective effects, supporting brain health and cognitive function. Studies have shown that sulforaphane may improve memory, reduce neuroinflammation, and even protect against neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
Now that we've explored the benefits of sulforaphane, let's look at which cruciferous vegetables are the richest in this compound. Here's a list from lowest to highest concentration:
1. Radish (~0.5-1.5 μmol/100g)
2. Watercress (~1.5-3.5 μmol/100g)
3. Arugula (~2-5 μmol/100g)
4. Kale (~3-7 μmol/100g)
5. Collard greens (~4-8 μmol/100g)
6. Broccoli (~5-10 μmol/100g)
7. Cauliflower (~6-12 μmol/100g)
8. Brussels sprouts (~7-15 μmol/100g)
9. Cabbage (~8-18 μmol/100g)
10. Broccoli sprouts (~10-50 μmol/100g)
To give you a better sense of just how small a micro mole (μmol) is, consider that a typical adult human body contains approximately 7,000,000,000,000,000 (7 octillion) atoms. That's a 7 followed by 27 zeros!
In contrast, a micro mole is just 1,000,000th of that amount. It's an incredibly tiny quantity, but still significant in the context of biochemical reactions and pharmacological dosages.
To make it more relatable, think of a micro mole like a single drop of water in a large swimming pool. While a single drop may seem insignificant, it's still part of the larger whole and can have a measurable impact when combined with other drops. Similarly, micro moles may be small, but they play a crucial role in many biological processes.
Now that you know the benefits of sulforaphane and which vegetables have the highest concentrations, it's time to get creative with your meal planning! Here are some tips to help you incorporate more sulforaphane-rich vegetables into your diet:
• Add cruciferous vegetables to your daily smoothies or juices in between your seasonal Functional Medicine Detox Protocols
• Use them as a base for salads or sauté them at low heat as a side dish
• Experiment with new recipes, like broccoli sprout stir-fries or cauliflower pizza crusts
• Try fermenting or pickling cruciferous vegetables for added benefits
Sulforaphane is a powerhouse compound that offers a multitude of benefits for our health, from cancer prevention to brain function support. By incorporating sulforaphane-rich cruciferous vegetables into our diets, we can unlock its potential and take our health to the next level. To maximize its impact, remember:
1. Eat a variety of cruciferous vegetables to ensure a broad range of benefits.
2. Incorporate sulforaphane-rich vegetables into your diet regularly, aiming for 3-5 servings a day.
3. Experiment with cooking methods to optimize sulforaphane retention, such as steaming or sautéing.
4. Consider supplementing with sulforaphane or cruciferous vegetable extracts, under the guidance of a certified Integrative health professional.
5. Stay informed about the latest research and developments in sulforaphane and integrative health.
By embracing sulforaphane and making it a part of our health journey, we can:
* Reduce our risk of chronic diseases
* Enhance our body's natural detoxification processes
* Support brain health and cognitive function
* Promote overall wellness and vitality
Don't miss out on the incredible benefits of sulforaphane. Make it a part of your health regimen today and watch your well-being soar!

As women entrepreneurs, you may often find yourselves juggling countless responsibilities, from managing businesses to nurturing families and communities. In the midst of our hectic schedules, our health often takes a back seat. However, what if I told you that sometimes doing less is actually helping more, and that there's a powerful tool right at our disposal, capable of not only transforming our health but also supercharging our entrepreneurial journey? Welcome to the world of Integrative Health and the ancient wisdom of intermittent fasting.
First, let's dispel some common misconceptions about intermittent fasting. Many believe that fasting equates to starvation or deprivation, but in reality, it's about strategic timing of eating windows to optimize metabolic processes. Moreover, there's a misconception that fasting is solely about weight loss, whereas its benefits extend far beyond mere aesthetics. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Intermittent fasting has been hailed as a game-changer in the realm of health and wellness, offering an array of benefits backed by scientific research. From improved insulin sensitivity and weight management to enhanced cognitive function and longevity, the advantages are truly transformative. Furthermore, intermittent fasting has been linked to cellular repair mechanisms, notably autophagy, which garnered the attention of the scientific community and led to the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Autophagy (autophagocytosis) is like a recycling process that happens inside our cells. Just like we take out the trash to keep our homes clean and functioning well, our cells have a similar mechanism to clean up and recycle old, damaged parts. Think of it as a cellular clean-up crew that removes and breaks down old or malfunctioning cell components, like damaged proteins or worn-out organelles. By doing this, autophagy helps our cells stay healthy and function properly.
When autophagy is activated, it can have several beneficial effects on our health, such as helping to prevent certain diseases, supporting our immune system, and even slowing down the aging process.
One way to trigger autophagy is through practices like intermittent fasting, where we give our bodies a break from constant eating, allowing them to focus on repair and regeneration instead. So, in a nutshell, autophagy is like a cellular recycling program that helps keep our bodies running smoothly and in good health.
As entrepreneurs, neglecting our health can have dire consequences not just for ourselves but also for our businesses. Chronic stress, poor dietary choices, and inadequate sleep can culminate in burnout, decreased productivity, and compromised decision-making abilities. Ultimately, our physical well-being forms the foundation upon which our entrepreneurial endeavors thrive.
Now, let's delve into the four levels of intermittent fasting and how they can serve as a catalyst for both personal and professional growth.
This is perhaps the most accessible form of intermittent fasting, requiring no extra effort other than extending the overnight fasting period such as from 6 pm to 6 or 8 am. During this time, our bodies undergo crucial metabolic processes, such as glycogen depletion and fat utilization. By incorporating a longer fasting window, we give our digestive system a much-needed break, allowing it to repair and rejuvenate.
Taking the next step, a 24-hour liquid fast from 6pm to 6pm so you actually get to eat each day, involves consuming only liquids fortified with essential nutrients, such as a vegan protein , vitamins and essential minerals in a functional medicine grade daily nutritional support powder. This approach provides the body with vital micronutrients while still eliciting the benefits of fasting, including autophagy and cellular regeneration.
For those ready to embark on a deeper journey, a 66-hour liquid fast offers profound metabolic and physiological benefits. By extending the fasting period, we tap into stored fat reserves more extensively, promoting detoxification and metabolic flexibility. The inclusion of a daily nutritional support powder ensures that our bodies receive the necessary nutrients to thrive during this extended fasting window. This method is actually day 1 & 2 of a clinically proven 7-Day Functional Medicine Detox Protocol.
At the pinnacle of intermittent fasting lies supervised water-only fasting, typically conducted under the guidance of healthcare professionals or experienced practitioners. While this approach requires careful monitoring and preparation, it offers unparalleled benefits, including profound autophagy, stem cell activation, and immune system rejuvenation. Moreover, longer fasting periods have been associated with heightened mental clarity and spiritual introspection, facilitating personal growth and self-discovery.
By embracing intermittent fasting as a cornerstone of Integrative Health, entrepreneurs can unlock their success potential, both in health and business. Through targeted interventions that prioritize holistic well-being, we can mitigate the risks of burnout, enhance resilience, and cultivate a thriving entrepreneurial mindset. In the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship, women face unique challenges that can impact both their personal and professional lives. From balancing business demands to maintaining overall well-being, the journey can be both exhilarating and exhausting. However, what if there was a way to gain insights into our bodies and minds that could optimize our performance and lead us to greater success? Enter at-home epigenetic testing—a revolutionary approach that holds the key to unlocking your potential as women entrepreneurs.
As advocates and experts of Integrative Health, we understand that true wellness extends beyond just physical health. It encompasses every aspect of our being, including our genetic makeup and how our environment influences gene expression. Epigenetic testing offers a window into this intricate interplay, providing invaluable information that can empower us to make informed decisions for our businesses and our lives. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
Think of your DNA as a blueprint for building a house, and epigenetics as the interior decorator who decides how each room will look and function. While the blueprint (DNA sequence) remains the same, the decorator (epigenetic modifications) can add or remove furniture, change the paint color, flooring, or rearrange the layout to suit different needs or preferences. These changes don't alter the blueprint itself but can significantly influence the overall appearance and functionality of the house. Similarly, in epigenetics, environmental factors and lifestyle choices can modify how our genes are expressed, affecting our traits and health outcomes without changing the underlying genetic code.
One of the most groundbreaking aspects of at-home epigenetic testing is the Epi-Metabolic Index—a comprehensive assessment that evaluates how lifestyle factors impact metabolic health at the epigenetic level. By analyzing markers such as DNA methylation patterns, this index reveals crucial insights into how our diet, exercise, stress levels, and sleep habits influence our metabolism. For women entrepreneurs juggling multiple responsibilities, understanding these metabolic nuances can be a game-changer. It enables us to tailor our lifestyle choices to optimize energy levels, enhance cognitive function, and foster resilience in the face of challenges.
Furthermore, epigenetic testing sheds light on genetic variants that can profoundly impact our health and well-being. Two such variants—APOE and MTHFR—have garnered significant attention for their implications in conditions ranging from cardiovascular disease to mental health disorders. APOE, in particular, plays a pivotal role in lipid metabolism and has been linked to the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. MTHFR variants, on the other hand, affect the body's ability to metabolize folate, impacting everything from mood regulation to detoxification processes.
For women entrepreneurs, being aware of these genetic predispositions is not only empowering but essential for long-term success. Armed with this knowledge, we can take proactive steps to mitigate risk factors through personalized interventions tailored to your unique genetic profiles. Whether it's optimizing our nutritional intake, incorporating targeted supplements, or implementing stress management strategies, epigenetic testing equips us with the tools to safeguard our health and maximize our potential.
But epigenetic testing goes beyond just genetic variants—it delves into the very essence of aging itself. The DNAge Index and DNAge History offer insights into how our biological age aligns with our chronological age, providing a holistic view of our overall health and vitality. As entrepreneurs, time is your most precious resource, and understanding the pace at which our bodies age empowers us to make strategic decisions that support longevity and vitality in both our personal and professional lives.
The consequences of not knowing this information can be profound, impacting not only our health but also our ability to thrive in the competitive landscape of entrepreneurship. Without awareness of our epigenetic makeup, we may unknowingly engage in behaviors that exacerbate underlying genetic vulnerabilities, leading to burnout, chronic illness, or cognitive decline. Moreover, overlooking the role of epigenetics in shaping our health trajectory can limit our potential for success, hindering productivity, creativity, and overall well-being.
That's where Integrative Health emerges as the unique solution—a holistic approach that integrates cutting-edge science with time-honored healing traditions to optimize health and performance. By leveraging the insights gleaned from epigenetic testing, Integrative Health empowers entrepreneurs to cultivate resilience, vitality, and success on their terms.
Imagine a future where every decision—from the food we eat to the way we manage stress—is informed by our unique genetic blueprint. It's a future where women entrepreneurs not only survive but thrive, harnessing the power of epigenetics to defy expectations and surpass barriers. By embracing epigenetic testing as a catalyst for transformation, together we can rewrite the narrative of success and pave the way for a new era of empowered entrepreneurship.
So, what's the next step on your journey to success? Explore at-home epigenetic testing with a complimentary consultation at Love Energy Wellness. Together, we'll unlock the secrets encoded within your DNA and chart a course toward a brighter, healthier future. Don't wait another moment to harness the power of epigenetics—your success awaits.

Are you an aspiring integrative health coach ready to take your practice online and turn prospects into paying clients? In today's digital age, the key to success lies in leveraging the right tools and strategies to attract, engage, and convert potential clients effectively. Whether you're just starting out or looking to optimize your existing online coaching business, here are the essential 3.5 things you need to know to move prospects into paying clients and avoid the pitfalls of failure.
One of the first steps towards converting prospects into paying clients is to make it easy for them to schedule appointments with you. Implementing a reliable schedule software like Calendly, Acuity Scheduling, or Book Like a Boss can significantly streamline your booking process. These tools allow prospects to view your availability and book appointments at their convenience, eliminating the back-and-forth communication and confusion often associated with scheduling.
By providing a seamless booking experience, you not only save time but also demonstrate professionalism and commitment to your clients' convenience. This sets a positive tone for your coaching relationship right from the start, making prospects more likely to commit to your services.
In the era of remote work and virtual connections, Zoom has become a cornerstone tool for online professionals, including integrative health coaches. While it may seem like a no-brainer, the ability to conduct virtual meetings via Zoom serves as the 1/2 thing on our list of essentials. Zoom provides a reliable platform for hosting client consultations, coaching sessions, workshops, and group meetings, allowing you to connect with clients regardless of geographical barriers.
By leveraging Zoom, you can recreate the intimacy and effectiveness of in-person interactions, fostering deeper connections and enhancing the overall coaching experience. Additionally, features like screen sharing, chat, and recording capabilities can further enrich your sessions and support client engagement and learning.
To convert prospects into paying clients, you need to clearly articulate the value of your coaching services and what sets you apart from the competition. Crafting an irresistible offer involves understanding your target audience's pain points, desires, and goals, and tailoring your services to address their specific needs.
Your offer should communicate the transformational outcomes clients can expect from working with you, whether it's achieving optimal health, overcoming chronic conditions, or enhancing overall well-being. Consider incorporating bonuses, such as free resources, personalized assessments, or exclusive access to community forums, to sweeten the deal and incentivize prospects to take action. I teach all this and more in the Confident Coach Business Mentorship Program online course.
Once prospects are ready to commit to your coaching services, you need a secure and convenient way to accept payments online. Integrate an online payment processor like PayPal, Stripe, or Square into your website or booking platform to simplify the transactional process for both you and your clients.
By offering multiple payment options and ensuring a seamless checkout experience, you remove friction from the purchasing decision, making it easier for prospects to convert into paying clients. Additionally, using a reputable payment processor instills trust and confidence in your professionalism and reliability, further solidifying your credibility as an integrative health coach.
By implementing these essential 3.5 things - schedule software, Telehealth, an irresistible offer, and an online payment processor - you can streamline your client acquisition process and set yourself up for success as an online integrative health coach. These tools not only help you avoid common pitfalls and roadblocks but also enhance your ability to attract, engage, and convert prospects into paying clients effectively. One of my favorite tools for success that offers all of these features and more, is the Get Healthie platform for practitioners. You can lean more about Get Healthie HERE.

As a entrepreneur, your time is precious, and your health is vital. But what if I told you that time is merely an illusion, a construct created by our minds? Quantum physics reveals fascinating facts that challenge our traditional understanding of time. In this blog, we'll explore the illusory nature of time, its impact on your health and well-being, and how daylight saving time plays a role in your entrepreneurial journey. (Note: if you prefer podcasts over blogs, click here to tune in.)
In the quantum world, time loses its rigidity. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, time is relative, affected by gravity and motion. This phenomenon, known as time dilation, blurs the fixed notion of time. Additionally, quantum mechanics introduces non-locality, where particles can be entangled, existing in multiple places simultaneously. This challenges the linear progression of time, suggesting that all moments exist at once.
So, if time isn't an absolute truth, how did we construct this illusion? Humanity created timekeeping systems, like clocks and calendars, to make sense of the world. We divided the day into hours, minutes, and seconds, imposing a structure on the fluid nature of existence. As a woman entrepreneur, you've likely created your own time management systems to juggle work, family, and personal responsibilities.
But how does this construct impact your health and well-being? Research shows that your perception of time affects:
• Circadian rhythms: Disruptions to natural sleep-wake cycles lead to sleep disorders, obesity, and chronic diseases.
• Stress and anxiety: The pressure to manage time and meet deadlines contributes to mental health issues.
• Aging: The subjective experience of time influences your perception of aging and longevity.
Enter daylight saving time (DST), a construct within a construct. By adjusting clocks forward or backward, we attempt to optimize sunlight usage. However, this artificial manipulation of time has significant effects on your health and well-being:
• Increased risk of heart attacks, strokes, and accidents due to disrupted circadian rhythms
• Negative impacts on mental health, including increased rates of depression and anxiety
• Altered sleep patterns, affecting children's development and cognitive function (if you're a mom entrepreneur)
By acknowledging the fluidity of time and the impact of DST on your health, you can reclaim your well-being and reassess your relationship with time. Consider these strategies:
You’re going to love these five healthy tips based on circadian rhythm based upon integrative health principles:
1. Establish a Consistent Sleep Schedule: Aim to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends. This consistency helps regulate your body's internal clock and promotes better sleep quality. For an easier DST transition, gradually increase or decrease your bedtime by 15 minutes every other day during the week before the time change.
2. Expose Yourself to Natural Light: Get exposure to natural sunlight during the day, especially in the morning. Natural light helps regulate your circadian rhythm and promotes wakefulness during the day, which can improve sleep quality at night.
3. Limit Exposure to Artificial Light at Night: Minimize exposure to screens from electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and computers before bedtime. The blue light emitted by these devices can disrupt your circadian rhythm and make it harder to fall asleep.
4. Eat a Balanced Diet at Regular Times: Consume meals at consistent times each day and focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, fiber and lean easy to digest proteins. Avoid heavy meals 3 hours before bedtime, as they can interfere with digestion and disrupt sleep.
5. Incorporate Relaxation Techniques Before Bed: Develop a relaxing bedtime routine to signal to your body that it's time to wind down. This could include activities such as reading, gentle stretching, meditation, or taking a warm bath. These practices can help reduce stress and prepare your body for restful sleep aligned with your circadian rhythm.
Time, once thought to be a fixed and objective reality, reveals itself as an illusion, a construct born from human ingenuity and quantum uncertainty.
